Samsung Washing Machine Error Code dE: Door error
Applies to Samsung washing machines that show dE or dC, dE1, dE2, dS, FL on the display.
The door is not detected as closed and locked. Check for laundry caught in the seal and close the door firmly.
What this code means
The washer will not run with the door unlatched, so it reports this code when the lock does not confirm. On FlexWash models, a 1dC4 code means the small rubber button next to the upper washer's latch is missing — replacing the button fixes it and no service is needed.

- Check that the latch is securely fixed and the door is closed and secured correctly.
- Make sure no laundry or other items are caught in the door.
- On FlexWash models showing 1dC4, check the rubber button next to the upper latch is present.
If the code cannot be corrected, or there is damage to the door or latch, Samsung says to request service.
