LG Washing Machine Error Code FF: Freeze failure
Applies to LG washing machines that show FF on the display.
Cold weather has frozen the inlet or drain hose. The machine is fine — its plumbing is not.
What this code means
Prolonged cold weather freezes water standing in the inlet or drain hose. Until it thaws, the machine can neither fill nor drain, so it flags FF.
The manufacturer's checks, in order
- Thaw the inlet hose — warm towels or gentle warm air; never an open flame.
- Check the drain hose for ice as well; LG notes an FF code together with OE usually means the drain hose is frozen.
- Warm the room the machine sits in, if possible, before running it again.
If a hose has split from freezing, replace it before running the machine; a burst inlet hose is a flood risk.
