LG Washing Machine Error Code FE: Overfill error
Applies to LG washing machines that show FE on the display.
Too much water has entered the drum — the level keeps rising past where it should stop. Shut the water off first, then let the machine drain.
What this code means
FE is the fill-side opposite of OE: too much water coming in rather than too little going out. The usual cause is an inlet valve that no longer shuts fully, so the tub keeps filling past its set level.
The manufacturer's checks, in order
- Turn off the water supply taps to the machine.
- Let the machine drain, or run a drain/spin cycle.
- Do not keep running the machine while this code is showing.
An overfill is almost always a stuck inlet valve or a failed level sensor. Both are service repairs; keep the taps off until it is fixed.
