LG Dishwasher Error Code IE: Water inlet error

Applies to LG dishwashers that show IE on the display.

Quick answer

Not enough water is reaching the tub. Check the supply valve, the inlet hose and your water pressure.

What this code means

The dishwasher fills against a timer. Low pressure, a closed valve or a blocked inlet all show up identically: not enough water in the time allowed.

The manufacturer's checks, in order

  1. Check the water supply valve under the sink is fully open.
  2. Check the inlet hose for clogs, kinks or freezing, as LG's manual table lists.
  3. Confirm your household water supply itself is on and at normal pressure.
Where you stop

If water supply is good and IE persists, the inlet valve or control needs a technician.
